Extend the Season’s Coziness to Your Fall Handbag

Extend the Season’s Coziness to Your Fall Handbag

With plenty of time spent at home, it’s hard to avoid a comfortable fashion sensibility, as we’re primarily focusing on knits, loungewear, and practical, everyday clothing. Our wardrobes have largely shed structured and sculptural items in favor of soft fabrics and loose silhouettes. That comfy and cozy aesthetic is even appearing on the season’s accessories too.

Cozying up goes beyond slouchy knits and the billowing, soft sweaterdresses-the season’s bags have gotten the memo, via the moment’s buttery-soft, slouchy leather handbag trend.

Following the launch of Daniel Lee’s Bottega Veneta Pouch clutch, a favorite among It girls and street style fanatics, the gathered-leather look took off. The brand has used it on a handful of other bag styles, and other designers have crafted their own iterations. It’s easy to see why, as the gentle folds and supple ruching are gentle on the eyes, and carrying one gives some tactical comfort as the leather is so soft, it’s almost soothing. The slouchy style is offered in an array of neutral hues and covetable colors, such as DeMellier London’s pale yellow wristlet and Loewe’s khaki green clutch, aligning well with the modern minimalist style movement. A little extra comfort goes a long way these days, and luckily there’s plenty of pleasing pouches from Manu Atelier, crossbodies from Yuzefi, and totes from Proenza Schouler to cozy up and clutch onto this fall.
