Google pledges 25 million euros to boost AI skills in Europe
Google has committed to investing 25 million euros to enhance AI skills throughout Europe.
The company launched a funding initiative on Monday aimed at nonprofits and social enterprises focused on AI education for those most likely to benefit.
Alongside this, Google is introducing "growth academies" to aid AI-utilizing businesses in scaling up and has broadened its online AI courses to include 18 different languages.
Adrian Brown from the Centre for Public Impact, partnering with Google in this effort, highlighted the risk of AI widening economic and employment inequalities.
The initiative aims to equip Europeans with AI knowledge and skills to prevent anyone from being left behind. Additionally, Google recently revealed plans for a $1 billion data center near London, which will span across a 33-acre site in Waltham Cross to support the increasing demand for internet services.
