Eight of the 14 cinemas will remain open, located in Birmingham, Clydebank, High Wycombe, Ipswich, Sutton, Bath, and Cheltenham.

The administrators are seeking a buyer and blame the financial impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, inflation, and the cost of living crisis for the closures.

The latest rate of inflation was 8.7%.

Cineworld, the world's second-largest cinema operator, is set to exit bankruptcy this month.
