Emmerdale Adoption Storyline Takes Center Stage with New Cast Addition

Emmerdale has re-cast the character of Georgia Sharma, the mother of Jai, as the adoption storyline gathers momentum.

The previous actress who played Georgia, Trudie Goodwin, has been replaced by Lin Blakley, who is well-known for her role in EastEnders as Pam Coker.

Jai, played by Chris Bisson, has discovered that he was adopted and will want answers from his flighty mother as well as his father, Rishi, who has been lying to him.

Georgia will bring a "secret for the Sharmas that could potentially blow their world apart" and will make her debut just in time for Jai's wedding to Laurel.

Lin has expressed her excitement about playing a "very different role" and will make her Emmerdale debut this summer.
