Digital rights organisation the Electronic Frontier Foundation asserts that the UK’s Online Safety Act creates a catch‑all “duty of care” legal framework that encourages platforms to suppress lawful speech, undermines anonymity and privacy, and ultimately fails to keep children safer online.
