Ed Sheeran Named UK’s Most Played Artist for Seventh Time
Ed Sheeran has been named the UK’s most played artist for the seventh time in nine years, according to PPL. British artists dominate the top 10, with Taylor Swift and Dua Lipa also high on the list. Miley Cyrus’s Flowers was the most played single, followed by Sheeran’s Eyes Closed.
Yorkshire-born Ed Sheeran, 33, has topped the list of the most played artists in the UK, compiled by music licensing company PPL, for the seventh time in nine years.
Taylor Swift rose from 10th to second place in 2023, while Dua Lipa secured the third spot.
Calvin Harris and David Guetta rounded out the top five.
Sheeran's song Eyes Closed was the second most played track, behind Miley Cyrus's Flowers.
Seven out of the top 10 most played artists were British, showcasing strong support for homegrown talent in UK radio, TV, and public places.
