If you’ve been out and about in New York lately, you’ve probably noticed that people are really looking for any chances to get dressed up. Whether they’re heading to the parks or out to dinner (possibly even indoors!) street style is back in the city, baby, almost like it never left. The Frieze art fair has even returned at the Hudson Yards location, The Shed. And if there were ever an excuse to wear your most interesting, architectural outfit, it’s to take in Daniel Arsham’s Bronze Eroded Melpomene sculpture or a special Carrie Mae Weems installation.

But most didn’t sacrifice the comfort many of us have become accustomed to while wearing sweats for the past year. Easy-breezy suiting emerged as the top trend of the fair. Photographer Melodie Jeng captured teal suits, white suits, jade suits-even jumpsuits! Most were slightly slouchy and oversized, or paired with sneakers, hitting that sweet spot between dressed up and comfortable. Of course, there were those who opted for a beautiful pair of heels but mostly the art crowd stuck with their sneakers (they had to be standing and walking a lot after all!). Since it was still a little nippy this weekend, we got our fill of statement jackets and coats. One showgoer even pulled off an old fashion world favorite: draping the jacket over your shoulders instead of utilizing the sleeves. Nature is healing, etc.
