Ex-boyfriend sentenced to life in prison for murder of Anna Jedrkowiak in ferocious Ealing ambush

Dennis Akpomedaye, a former boyfriend of Anna Jedrkowiak, stabbed her 40 times in a ferocious ambush in Ealing, London, in May 2021.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment and must serve a minimum of 29 years.

Akpomedaye had tracked down Ms Jedrkowiak, who had previously ended their relationship to move to London for a new life, and killed her in an alleyway.

He then tried to decapitate her and left a trail of blood from the scene.

Akpomedaye was caught within 22 hours of the murder and was caught at Victoria coach station trying to return home to Newport.

The murder was described as "ferocious and savage" by Judge Rajeev Shetty, who added that there was no mitigation for the crime.
