Police arrested 34 individuals amid riots that erupted after a knife assault in the city center, leaving four wounded. Varadkar condemned the events, stating they disgraced Ireland.

Garda Commissioner Harris described the chaos as immense, attributing it to a small group of far-right extremists. In the turmoil, one officer sustained serious injuries, and there was significant property damage, including looting, as well as the destruction of police vehicles, a bus, and a tram.

Authorities also reported that a five-year-old girl is under emergency care due to the knife assault, along with three other victims: a woman in her thirties and two more children, ages five and six.

The police are not currently seeking any suspects beyond a male involved in the incident, and they remain open-minded regarding the motive.
