Dream Home Extension: Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz Encounter Opposition to Grade-II Listed London Property Plans

Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz are facing resistance from heritage groups regarding their proposed extension to their Grade-II listed home in London.

The actors intend to remodel their £3.2 million Primrose Hill house, replacing a substandard conservatory with a more substantial structure. They plan to reconfigure the kitchen and reception areas and change a first-floor window.

Local objections, reported by the Telegraph, assert that the extension is inappropriate for the Victorian terrace located in a conservation area. The couple's planning agent claimed to Camden Council that the new extension would be more in line with the original property, enhancing the kitchen's connection to the garden and natural light.

However, Camden's Primrose Hill Conservation Area Committee, especially Richard Simpson, opposed the changes, specifically criticizing the proposed window replacement as it would remove historically accurate glazing.

The council is expected to decide on the application this month. Craig and Weisz, who purchased the house in 2008, previously secured a victory in 2017 to preserve a 65ft tree on the property, despite neighbor complaints, after Camden Council issued a protection order. A representative for Craig and Weisz has been contacted for a statement by the Standard.
