James Cleverly, the new Home Secretary, faced questions about whether he had privately referred to the government's Rwanda plan as "batshit."
While appearing on various news outlets, Cleverly did not fully deny using the term but instead said he did not recognize the phrase and claimed it was a claim made about him rather than something he said.
He also suggested that the focus on this comment was a distraction from the Labour Party's immigration policy vacuum.
