Paul Mosley, convicted in the manslaughter of six children in a 2012 Derby house fire, has been granted release from prison by the Parole Board.

He was initially released in May 2021 after serving half of his 17-year sentence but was re-incarcerated in 2022 for breaching parole terms. The decision for his release follows a parole hearing on October 24, assessing his risk to the public and whether it can be managed outside prison.

Mosley, along with Mick and Mairead Philpott, was involved in starting the fire that led to the deaths of six children. Mairead Philpott was released on license in 2020 after a 17-year sentence, while Mick Philpott is serving a life sentence with a minimum term of 15 years.

The Ministry of Justice emphasized that Mosley will be under close supervision upon release and can be recalled to prison for any breaches of his release conditions.
