The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office ruled the death a suicide.

The employee was working for a company that Delta Air Lines contracts for ground support.

Unifi Aviation, the company the employee worked for, said it will have grief counselors on site for its employees.

An investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) into the incident was halted after the medical examiner's ruling.

A similar incident occurred in Alabama last year, where an airport worker was pulled into a plane engine, and the regional airline Piedmont was fined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for the death.

American Airlines subsidiary Piedmont Airlines Inc.

reiterated the importance of safety measures after a routine assignment ended in tragedy, without providing further details.

The statement was issued by the company's CEO, Mr. Gonzalez.
