Fremantle apologized for the distress caused by releasing his private conversations and adjusted their production practices to better respect participants' privacy. They expressed hope for future collaborations with Walliams.

Fremantle's spokesperson conveyed their regret and satisfaction for the resolved dispute to PA News agency. Walliams had taken legal action against the company for privacy misuse and data protection breaches, claiming harm and financial loss, especially after the leaked remarks caused him to lose a £1m deal to return to the show. His reputation and potential earnings suffered as his comments were recorded unwittingly and published by the Guardian.

David Walliams, who was a judge on the show from 2012 to 2022, was replaced by Bruno Tonioli after the incident.
