Coventry City and Leicester City have denounced a group of fans for displaying abusive banners on the M69, aimed at Leicester supporters, before their upcoming Midlands derby. Coventry is collaborating with the police to find and ban those involved.

The banners made light of a helicopter accident that claimed the life of Leicester's ex-chairman and four others in 2018. Leicester highlighted that such misconduct opposes football's principles of respect and unity.

Both teams, set to face off in the Championship at CBS Arena, emphasized that this behavior is unacceptable in football and society. Leicester expressed appreciation for the solidarity from Coventry and the football community in reporting the issue.

West Midlands Police have taken down the banners, cautioning that there are laws against such offensive displays. Recently, arrests were made among Millwall fans for similar disrespectful acts.
