Constance Marten and her partner Mark Gordon have pleaded not guilty to charges related to the death of their newborn baby, Victoria. The baby's body was discovered in a shed in Brighton after a weeks-long police search for the family.
The couple, originally from London, appeared at the Old Bailey and denied charges including manslaughter, cruelty to their baby, concealment of the baby's birth, causing or allowing her death, and perverting the course of justice. The trial is set for January 2, and the couple has been remanded into custody until then.
