Conservatives set for worst election result yet, research shows

A recent poll involving 15,000 respondents indicates the Conservative Party is heading towards a significant defeat, possibly securing fewer than 100 seats in the upcoming elections.

This survey, conducted by Survation for Best for Britain, projects the Labour Party to win 468 seats, resulting in a 286-seat majority led by Sir Keir Starmer. The Conservatives, led by Rishi Sunak, are predicted to not win any seats in Scotland or Wales and may even lose Sunak's North Yorkshire constituency.

The poll also forecasts Reform UK to finish second in seven constituencies, with the Scottish National Party and the Liberal Democrats expected to win 41 and 22 seats, respectively.

This potential outcome marks a drastic shift from the 2019 election results and comes amid a decline in Labour Party membership following recent policy controversies.

Despite this, Labour's financial status remains robust, supported by donations and union contributions. The poll's findings suggest a significant change in voter sentiment, with Best for Britain CEO Naomi Smith highlighting the voters' shift away from the Conservative Party.
