Conservative MP Chris Philp Clarifies 'Rhetorical' Question on Rwanda and Congo during Question Time

Conservative MP Chris Philp addressed an incident during a recent appearance on BBC's Question Time.

While answering questions from the audience on Thursday, Philp was posed a query by an individual from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

In response, Philp asked, "Isn't Congo a different country to Rwanda?"

During an interview on Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg, Philp clarified the situation.

He admitted that he had experienced some difficulty in hearing the original question due to the audience noise.

Philp emphasized that his response was intended as a rhetorical question, not an expression of ignorance or confusion regarding the geographical distinction between Rwanda and the DRC.
