Conservative Lawmakers Call on Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to Reduce Immigration Levels in UK

A group of Conservative lawmakers in the UK has called on Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to do more to reduce immigration levels in the country.

The lawmakers, who were elected in 2019 in traditionally opposition Labour-supporting regions, are concerned that Sunak's lack of action on immigration could erode the trust of voters who supported the Conservatives in the last election.

The lawmakers have issued a 12-point plan to reduce immigration, including closing temporary visa schemes for care workers, limiting students' ability to stay in the UK after graduation, and capping the number of refugees.

A spokesperson for the Interior Ministry said the government remains committed to reducing overall net migration and will continue to strike a balance between supporting the UK economy and reducing migration.
