Conor McGregor won't face charges after sexual assault claim

UFC fighter Conor McGregor will not face charges in connection with a sexual assault claim at an NBA finals game in Miami last June. The accuser alleged that McGregor assaulted her in a VIP bathroom, with security guards allegedly playing a role in the incident. McGregor denied the allegations from the outset.

The state attorney's office has confirmed that the case has been dropped. The incident occurred during Game 4 of the NBA finals between the Miami Heat and the Denver Nuggets.

A letter from the woman's lawyer last year detailed the alleged assault, including claims that NBA and Miami Heat security guards forced her into the men's bathroom before the incident. Security footage showed McGregor and the accuser entering the bathroom together.

Conor McGregor's lawyer expressed satisfaction with the case's resolution, affirming that it supports McGregor's account of the events.

McGregor, who has been out of the UFC since July 2021 due to a leg injury, has taken steps to return to the sport by re-entering the United States Anti-Doping Agency's testing pool. His expected return to action is in 2024, with a potential fight against Michael Chandler on the horizon once he completes the required testing period.
