Godley passed away at 63 after battling ovarian cancer, having gained fame for her comedic voiceover parodies of then-First Minister Nicola Sturgeon's Covid briefings.
Nicola Sturgeon, a friend of Godley, attended the service, highlighting it as a fitting tribute encapsulating Godley's spirit, referencing the laughter and tears shared during the ceremony.
Among the attendees were Godley's daughter, Ashley Storrie, also a comedian, and fellow Scottish comedian Gavin Mitchell.
Storrie, who refrained from sharing her mother’s jokes in church, praised her mother's love for Glasgow, her infectious humor, and boundary-pushing persona.
She noted the hundreds who lined the streets in Edinburgh to pay their respects during Godley’s 'final tour' before the funeral.
Rev Kelvin Holdsworth commended her comedic videos, asserting they helped many during the lockdown.
Godley became widely recognized for holding a controversial sign in protest during Donald Trump’s 2016 visit to Scotland.
The funeral concluded with a nod to Godley's trademark catchphrase, 'Frank, get the door,' famously used in her parodies and as the title of her 2020 book.
