It was originally given to a consul general in Morocco's Rabat by Churchill, who was Britain's wartime Prime Minister.

The consul general's family kept the cigar until his death in 1973 and is now being sold by the consul's relatives through Derbyshire-based Hansons Auctioneers.

The auction is expected to take place on June 16 and is expected to fetch 900 pounds.

The cigar is considered an iconic piece of memorabilia and is one of the only known items connected to Churchill and the Second World War.
