Christmas Eve Heats Up: Warmest Since 1997 with Record 15.3°C Near Heathrow

The UK experienced its warmest Christmas Eve since 1997 with temperatures reaching 15.3C near Heathrow. Although it didn't surpass the all-time record of 15.5C set in 1931, the mild weather may lead to the warmest Christmas Day since 2016.

Forecaster Dan Stroud predicts highs of 13 to 14C. The record for the warmest Christmas Day stands at 15.6C in Devon, 1920.

Strong winds were also reported, causing disruptions and leading to a weather warning for eastern England. While northern Scotland may see a white Christmas with snow on higher ground, most of the UK is expected to have a rainy and warm Christmas Day, especially in Wales and parts of Scotland.
