Wright, nominated for U.S. Energy Secretary, will address the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship conference, discussing energy policy and other topics.
Chris Wright, President
Donald Trump's nominee for U.S. Energy Secretary, is scheduled to speak at the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (ARC) conference in London next month.
Wright, who is set for Senate confirmation on Friday, is the CEO of oilfield services company Liberty Energy.
He has previously advocated for the expansion of fracking, a practice currently banned in the UK due to environmental concerns.
In a 2023 ARC meeting, Wright argued that fracking could transform the UK, calling the case for it 'compelling.' Although Wright will not attend the conference in person, it is unclear whether he will participate virtually.
The event, scheduled for February 17-19, will also feature other notable figures including U.S. Republican lawmakers and climate expert Bjorn Lomborg, who questions the cost-benefit balance of climate change policies.
The conference will focus on themes such as social cohesion, free enterprise, governance, and energy policy.
