Emily Eden, an 18-year-old teenager with terminal cancer, and her family are living in a hotel room after their home in Clay Cross near Chesterfield, Derbyshire, was flooded during Storm Babet. Emily was undergoing chemotherapy in the hospital when their house was inundated, rendering it uninhabitable.

Her family is extremely concerned about her well-being, as she is vulnerable due to her cancer treatment. Emily's father, Richard Eden, explained that she had wanted to return home to her "comfort zone," where a hospital bed had been set up to make her final days as comfortable as possible.

However, the flooding has disrupted their plans, and they are now facing uncertainty about their living situation and Emily's care. The family is also dealing with insurance issues and a lack of available emergency accommodation from the local council.
