Changes made to home quarantine application process

Change have been made to the home quarantine application process to make it easier for residents and citizens to home quarantine.

This is according to the Ministry for Health and Social Development, who said the changes to the home quarantine process will be effective today, June 24, 2021.

“Emailing the home quarantine checklist is no longer required,” Chief Environmental Health Officer Mr E. Lionel Michael said, adding that the change will make it easier for residents and citizens to home quarantine.

Checklist available via web-form


Mr Michael, according to a press release from Government Information Services (GIS) on June 23, 2021, the checklist is now available via a web-form which can be found at www.bvimonitor.info/homequarantine or on the BVI Gateway Portal’s home page (bvigateway.bviaa.com).

The public is also reminded that home quarantine approval is required for persons who are staying at private residential properties and on private vessels.

The following are the categories of persons who are required to apply:

*  Persons who are unvaccinated

*  Persons who are partially vaccinated

*  Persons who are traveling with unvaccinated persons 18 years and older

*  Persons who are traveling with partially vaccinated persons 18 years and older

Unaccompanied minors 17 years and younger

Apply within 5 to 7 days


“Persons are encouraged to apply for home quarantine within five to seven days of travel to the British Virgin Islands can expect a response to their application within 24 hours,” Mr Michael added.
