Celtic Football Club suspending a section of its supporter group known as the Green Brigade from attending matches indefinitely. The club took this action due to what it sees as the group's consistent failure to adhere to club and stadium rules.
The Green Brigade had previously been banned from receiving tickets for away games. The decision for the indefinite ban was made following a series of incidents, including the unsafe use of pyrotechnics, rushing turnstiles and forcing open fire exits, bringing an unauthorized banner into the stadium, and violent and intimidating behavior towards stewards.
The club cited an "increasingly serious escalation" in unacceptable behavior as the reason for the suspension. Additionally, the Green Brigade had recently defied the club's request not to bring Palestinian flags to matches, which could lead to a fine from UEFA.
The group had argued for their right to express political beliefs, while the club and football governing bodies maintain that politics should not mix with football.
