Cat Embarks on 800-Mile Road Trip Across the South West in Van's Engine

A cat astonishingly survived a journey of 800 miles hidden in a van's engine compartment. The feline, Jasmine, who went missing last Tuesday from Weston-super-Mare, was discovered inside the vehicle when the driver stopped to refill the windscreen fluid.

The driver, Jeff Boorer, said despite the long trip, Jasmine appeared calm and unscathed.

The worried owner, Laura Teale, was relieved to get her eight-year-old Siamese back after putting up missing posters around her locality. The pet was located thanks to her microchip and returned to her in Devon by a veterinarian.

Having had Jasmine since she was a kitten, Teale was grateful for her safe return and commented on the cat's unlikely survival. Jasmine, only slightly dehydrated, has since resumed her usual routine at home, much to the delight of Teale's three-year-old son.
