Dan Wootton, a former ITV employee, claimed that executives were part of a "cover-up" for Schofield, who recently admitted to an affair and lying to his bosses and colleagues.

ITV replied that they were "deeply disappointed" by Schofield's admissions and felt "badly let down" by his assurances.

Schofield has released a statement apologizing for the relationship and admitting that it was unwise but not illegal.

He also stated that he lied about the relationship to his bosses and colleagues, resulting in him being dropped by his agent of 35 years.

Phillip Schofield, a British television presenter, has admitted to having an affair with his fellow This Morning showrunner.

Other former ITV employees have since commented on the situation, with Eamonn Holmes writing that Schofield has been caught being unfaithful and that high-ranking management at ITV knew about his behavior but did not take action.

Dr Ranj Singh added that a storm is coming.
