Ghosn is accused of crimes including defamation, slander, libel, and the fabrication of material evidence by Nissan, along with two other companies and 12 named individuals.
Ghosn denies the charges and has always claimed to be innocent.
He escaped Japan in December 2019, hiding in a box of music equipment aboard a private jet, and has remained in Lebanon since, as there is no extradition treaty between Japan and Lebanon.
