Stephen Alderton has been sentenced to life in prison for the "execution-style" murders of father and son, Gary and Josh Dunmore, in Cambridgeshire. The killings occurred shortly after a family court hearing involving Alderton's grandson.

Armed with a legally-owned shotgun, Alderton shot both victims, one at close range after knocking on his door. He admitted to the murders and expressed a belief in taking the law into his own hands.

Alderton was sentenced to a minimum of 25 years in prison, with the judge highlighting his "distorted beliefs." Victim impact statements revealed the brutality of the crimes. Two individuals arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder are currently on bail.
