Police in London have called on the city’s Turkish and Kurdish communities for assistance in finding the culprits behind a drive-by shooting that left a nine-year-old girl critically injured.

The attack took place in east London on Wednesday when a gunman on a motorbike opened fire on men outside a restaurant.

Three men were taken to the hospital, two in serious condition.

Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway confirmed that the nine-year-old remains in critical condition and appealed for community support to help identify the assailants, noting the stolen Ducati motorbike used.

Erim Metto of the Turkish Cypriot Community Association urged the community to provide any useful information.
