BVI Reopens For Tourists December 1
The British Virgin Islands will reopen to visitors and other external travellers on December 1, 2020.
Premier and Minister for Finance, Hon. Andrew Fahie made the pronouncement moments ago during the launch of the BVI Tourist Board’s BVI Love campaign.
“We have two full months to prepare, and we must get it right,” he said on Monday, September 21, 2020, during the virtual campaign launch.
“For our reopening date of December 1, 2020, to welcome back our tourists, among others to become a reality, we all have to work together, and we have to cooperate with the authorities. Businesses must be able to meet the standards for the reopening of our borders. We have one shot at this, so let us prepare, aim, and hit our target,” Premier Fahie stated.
He said the new brand, ‘BVI Love’ is the Territory’s way of being distinctive in this ever-changing tourism market.
The Premier further urged all play their part by adhering to the social distancing guidelines, hand hygiene and other measures implemented by the Government in their efforts to surpress COVID-19.
He called on residents to respect the authorities implementing those measures as “we must be disciplined people.”
Science and technology will be used to guide the authorities to test and retest for reopening, he informed.
He said the public and private sector would be engaged as the Territory moves into this new phase in dealing and living with the dreaded COVID disease.
