Bus Driver Charged After Fatal Collision with Nine-Year-Old Girl in Bexleyheath
Martin Asolo-Agogua faces multiple charges following the death of Ada Bicakci in August 2023.
Martin Asolo-Agogua, a 23-year-old resident of Nunhead, has been formally charged with causing death by dangerous driving in connection to a tragic incident that resulted in the death of nine-year-old Ada Bicakci in Bexleyheath last summer.
In addition to this charge, Asolo-Agogua has also been charged with causing death by careless driving while under the influence of drink or drugs, and for driving whilst exceeding the drug limit.
The collision occurred on August 3, 2023, around Watling Street near the junction with Halcot Avenue, where Ada and her five-year-old brother were struck by the bus while accompanied by a family member.
Both children were transported to a medical facility for treatment.
Despite the intervention of medical professionals, Ada passed away two days later on August 5.
In response to the incident, the Metropolitan Police indicated that Ada’s family continues to receive support from specialist officers.
Asolo-Agogua was arrested on the date of the accident on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving and for drug-driving offenses.
He has since been released on bail.
He is scheduled to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 24, 2024.
Following Ada's passing, her family chose to donate her organs, providing life-saving assistance to six additional children.
The incident has raised awareness regarding road safety and the significant impact of driving under the influence.
