British woman stabbed to death in Spain and husband arrested 'fleeing scene'
A British woman has been killed on the Costa Blanca in a suspected domestic violence murder.
Her husband, also thought to be British, is understood to have been arrested in the early hours of this morning.
It’s reported he is in hospital with a knife wound after ‘trying to flee the scene’.
The couple’s neighbours raised the alarm at about 3.50am this morning.
Police then rushed to their house in Orihuela Costa, south of Alicante.
The 64-year-old woman was found dead inside the property with stab injuries around 4am.
Her husband, 69, is said to have been taken into custody as he tried to leave.
He is under police guard in hospital with a knife wound to the stomach.
It is not immediately clear how he suffered the injury.
