On Wednesday night, several British MPs and international organisations had their accounts on X, formerly known as Twitter, hacked.
Targeted figures included Justice Secretary Shabana Mahmood and Labour MPs Chris Elmore and Carolyn Harris, along with accounts from the World Health Organization, the Great British Menu, and Lenovo's India branch.
The hackers posted messages promoting cryptocurrency profits, which were briefly visible on TweetDeck before being removed swiftly.
This incident isn't isolated; previous hacks included Jeremy Corbyn’s account in 2016.
Comedian Sooz Kempner also confirmed her account was compromised.
