British model and TikToker Modou Adams has been sentenced to nearly seven years in a Peruvian prison for attempting to smuggle 2.9 kilograms (6.4 pounds) of cocaine out of Peru.
He was caught at the airport, and the drugs were destined for the UK. Adams admitted to the drug smuggling charge, coordinating the shipment of around 3 kilograms of cocaine to London. This was not his first attempt, according to anti-drug prosecutor Lincoln Fuentes.
The UK Foreign Office is providing support and is in contact with local authorities regarding the case.
