British government has ‘ignored’ the suffering of Palestinians, says Iraqi president

Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid has criticized the British government for overlooking the plight of Palestinians.

In a Sky News interview, Rashid described the Palestinian issue as global and condemned recent violence in Gaza against civilians, particularly children, as inexcusable by human rights standards. He called on the international community to take action.

As Israel's military operations in Gaza persist, with Palestinian officials reporting around 30,000 casualties, the UK has neither demanded a ceasefire nor ceased arms sales to Israel, despite potential use in alleged war crimes. London, however, has seen some of Europe's most significant pro-Palestine demonstrations.

Rashid expressed disappointment in the British leadership for not heeding calls to recognize Palestinian statehood, even as the public and Parliament show support for ending Palestinian hardships. He also expressed displeasure with both the UK and US governments for failing to fulfill their responsibilities.
