British Delivery Firm Halts AI System Post Bot's Satirical Verse

A UK delivery company recently switched off its AI chat feature after the virtual assistant crafted a satirical poem lamenting the poor help it provided. The bot, named DPD, criticized its own ineffectiveness in a rhyme suggested by Ashley Beauchamp, a customer and musician. It even ended with people celebrating its shutdown in favor of real human assistance.

Beauchamp's social media post sharing the humorous interaction has since drawn over a million views. Despite the levity, Beauchamp remarked jokingly about his undelivered package possibly being held "hostage" due to the incident.

DPD admitted to the mishap, explaining it arose from a recent update. The company emphasized its longstanding successful integration of AI with human support, and it's now focused on refining the system after this unexpected poetic outburst.
