Direct flights between Pittsburgh and London will be put on hold, again, following a decision from British Airways to suspend all flights between the British capital and the Steel City until March 2021 according to Pittsburgh International Airport.
Previously, these flights were set to resume on Oct. 2, 2020 but the
Covid-19 pandemic and the travel restrictions it has brought continues to impact the aviation industry. Flights are now set to start on March 28 of next year.
“It’s important that this flight succeeds, and we feel that with all of the uncertainty around global border closings and traditionally low traffic in January and February across the transatlantic, we get to put our best foot forward with a spring 2021 relaunch,” Christina Cassotis, CEO of the Allegheny County Airport Authority, said in a release on the authority’s Blue Sky News website. “We appreciate British Airways’ confidence in this market and look forward to their return.”
