Harding, 58, is a renowned explorer who has flown to space and holds three Guinness World Records.
The submersible operator, OceanGate, is searching for the missing crew and has deployed a highly-sophisticated P-8 Poseidon aircraft with underwater detection capabilities.
The US Coast Guard is also assisting in the search.
The Titanic sits 3,800m beneath the surface of the Atlantic Ocean and is about 600km off the coast of Newfoundland.
