Magician Steven Frayne, known as Dynamo, will create an outdoor event, and music celebrations will spotlight brass bands and South Asian music.
Shanaz Gulzar, creative director of Bradford 2025, emphasized the city's rich and diverse talent.
Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy said the programme will showcase Bradford's heritage.
Zayn Malik, a former One Direction member and Bradford native, serves as the ambassador.
The project aims to generate £700m and create 3,000 jobs.
Previous UK Cities of Culture include Derry (2013), Hull (2017), and Coventry (2021).
