Boris Johnson Steps Down as MP Amid Misleading Parliament Allegations

Boris Johnson, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, has stepped down as an MP following a report that he misled parliament over parties held at Downing Street during lockdown.

Andrew RT Davies, leader of the Welsh Conservatives, regrets Johnson's departure but believes that some of his opponents wanted to take revenge for Brexit and reverse the 2016 referendum result.

David TC Davies, a Conservative MP from Wales, expressed his sadness at Johnson's resignation, while Leanne Wood, former leader of Plaid Cymru, called for a change in the way society values integrity and accountability in politics.

Some politicians, including Chris Elmore and Hywel Williams, took to social media to comment on the matter.
