Keir Starmer Slams Boris Johnson Over Alleged Lockdown Parties At Chequers During COVID-19 Pandemic

Keir Starmer has criticized Boris Johnson for alleged lockdown parties at Chequers during the COVID-19 pandemic and has questioned why the allegations did not come to light earlier.

The Cabinet Office passed the allegations to the police this week after seeing diary entries about guests who were at Chequers during the pandemic, which Johnson handed to lawyers representing him as part of the Covid inquiry.

Johnson faced fines for an event in June 2020 for his birthday and more than 100 fines were handed out to others over events held in and around Downing Street.

Johnson is facing an inquiry by the privileges committee of MPs into whether he misled the House of Commons by saying all Covid rules were followed.
