Boris Johnson has criticized the idea that evidence from his diary given to police without his consent could suggest further Covid rule-breaking as "nonsensical".
Whitehall officials gave information about gatherings at Chequers and Downing Street to the Metropolitan and Thames Valley police.
Johnson was fined for attending a birthday gathering in June 2020, which led to the end of his time as prime minister.
Johnson believes the whole situation is "ridiculous" and that none of the entries in his diary constitute a breach of
Covid rules.
The privileges committee, which is conducting an inquiry into whether
Johnson lied to parliament about the Partygate scandal, has been informed of the new information.
