Police have confirmed the discovery of a body in their ongoing search for Edvard Stockings, a suspect in the tragic shooting of his wife, Lisa Smith, on Valentine's Day.

The incident occurred on 14 February in the car park of the Three Horseshoes pub in Knockholt, Kent.

Authorities have alleged that Mr. Stockings shot Ms. Smith, 43, before fleeing the scene around 19:00 GMT.

Following the incident, it is believed that Mr. Stockings drove to the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, near Dartford, where he entered the Thames River.

The body was located near Rainham, Essex, at approximately 15:45 GMT on Friday.

While the body has yet to be formally identified, police have informed Mr. Stockings' family of the discovery.

Witness accounts include surveillance footage capturing the sounds of three gunshots, accompanied by shouting and screaming, adding to the distressing nature of the incident.

In a subsequent phone call made to his friend Leslie Thompson at 20:50 GMT, Mr. Stockings reportedly stated, "She's dead, I love you.

I'll see you on the other side," suggesting a state of distress.

In addition to the body discovery, a vehicle and a firearm associated with Mr. Stockings were found in close proximity to the Dartford crossing, with authorities confirming that the vehicle was located on the bridge itself.

The investigation remains active as police continue to piece together the events surrounding this tragic incident.
