Biden to Meet Trump at White House for Transition Talks

Meeting scheduled following Trump's election victory and Biden's withdrawal from the race

On Wednesday, Joe Biden will meet with President-elect Donald Trump at the White House to discuss the transition of power.

This meeting will take place in the Oval Office at 11:00 am (1600 GMT).

The announcement comes after Trump secured a historic return to the presidency in the November 5 election, despite his past controversies, including a criminal conviction and two impeachments.

Biden, aged 81, had stepped back from the race in July, citing age-related concerns.

He congratulated Trump following his victory, showing commitment to an orderly transition, a pledge he made earlier.

Economic concerns remained significant for voters in this election, as reflected in exit polls.
