Williams, on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour, commented on her surprise at the amount raised and mentioned the increase in online trolling since the officers' dismissal, with some blaming her and denying the racial aspect of the incident.
The couple's lawyer emphasized the need for accountability in the Metropolitan Police and called on the commissioner to publicly back the panel's decision to maintain public trust in the police.
