Bianca Williams, a British world championship medallist athlete, who, along with her partner Olympic sprinter Ricardo Dos Santos, was stopped and searched by Met Police officers in July 2020, says the experience has left her "on edge" and anxious whenever she sees a police car.
The two officers involved in their stop and search have been dismissed for gross misconduct. Williams expressed her ongoing anxiety and concern about the impact on her family, especially her son, and her diminished trust in the police.
She also mentioned considering moving out of the UK due to their experiences and concerns about the next generation of black men and boys growing up in the country. Despite the ordeal, Williams remains focused on her sport and her ambition to reach the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
