The BBC has asked former presenter Huw Edwards to return his salary after his arrest in November last year for creating indecent images of children.

Edwards, a well-known figure on UK television, pleaded guilty last month to three charges, facing a potential prison sentence of 10 years.

The BBC Board stated that Edwards' actions undermined public trust and disgraced the broadcaster.

Despite his November arrest, Edwards was suspended and received around two hundred thousand pounds, funded by TV licence fees.

The BBC is considering legal action if he refuses to return the money.

Additionally, an independent review into workplace culture at the BBC has been announced.
